Business Processes

A business process model provides an at-a-glance view of what the organisation does (or should be doing) and how information flows in and out of activities.

A process flow changes the emphasis from who does what, to what needs to be done to improve efficiency and to deliver greater productivity.

Bizofis meets the combination of common requirements of its clients;

1. To increase efficiency
An inefficient business process leads to poor communication, duplication of effort, functional barriers, delays, unnecessary costs (money, materials and manpower) and, ultimately, an output that either partially or wholly fails to achieve its designated purpose.

2. To evaluate business practice as part of an organisational development project
Business process design and process improvement might be required in preparation for the implementation of enterprise technology such as ERP modules for supply chain management or CRM, or internal restructuring project.

Bizofis process improvement methodology mainly includes

  1. Analysis phase to;
    1. Understand the organization and its purpose or “mission” and relate this to the organization’s current business processes
    2. Define the “value chain” of all major processes who have the highest impact on creation of value depending on the mission of the company
    3. Identify and analyze the collection of processes and activities (“Critical Processes”) which are part of “value chain” within the organization
  2. Design phase to
    1. Investigate options for achieving improvement by redesigning the processes currently in operation
    2. Identify, prioritize and propose areas for improvement (ASD: Areas Subject to Discuss and ASI: Areas Subject to Improvement)
    3. Implement process design according to agreed ASIs.

The output of a common Bizofis business process analysis and improvement project includes;

  • The set of processes and activities that take place within the organization
  • ASIs related to those processes and activities
    • Current Flow Description
    • Potential Risk Areas
    • Possible outcomes of Risk items
    • Proposal of Bizofis
    • Expected Benefits of Proposal
  • A text description of each process or activity (Including; process owner, data and documentation within the process, approval mechanisms, control points)
  • Drawings (typically workflow diagrams)
  • Inputs and outputs
  • Key performance indicators to monitor and improve the process continuously in time.
